Yes! Warm weather is finally in Chicago.
Since the summer is here, it is now time for me to do a wardrobe change. I love fashion and my friends and family would say, “fashion is my passion.” Fashion is most impactful if you have the right fit and you’re on trend. Have you ever gone into your closet for a seasonal wardrobe change and realized that dress just doesn’t fit the same or that power suit needs an upgrade?
Well, the same concept can hold true with your business. A new season is a great time to reevaluate your business. What you did before may not work in this new season. This a good time to dig a little deeper and ask yourself, “Am I really growing my business or reaching the right target market?
I had to ask myself that question while participating in the YWCA’s Metropolitan Chicago’s Breedlove Entrepreneurship Program for women of color. Throughout this process, they asked the hard questions that helped me see that my target audience had changed by evaluating the types of clients who gave a major boost to my bottom line.
In business, it’s all about the bottom line and producing a profit, so I wanted to share some tips that can help you scale your business this summer and beyond.
Take Advantage of the Warm Weather: The summer is a great time to meet new people. More people equal more opportunities to talk about your brand and business. Think family reunions, company picnics and outdoor sporting events.
Expand Your Target Market – If you’ve targeted moms for your beauty-self-care business, you may want to do some research on how to reach dads who use self-care products as well. Also, if you’re only marketing to Chicago residents, try tapping into neighboring suburbs or bordering states, such as northwest Indiana.
Refine Marketing Strategies:
Adapt your marketing strategies to reach new audiences and promote your brand. Consider using paid advertising, social media marketing, and content marketing to increase brand visibility and drive traffic to your website.
I want to hear from you. Share your summer success stories on our MMG Facebook page or come out and join us for our monthly mixer Wednesday, June 18!
See you there and be well.
